This course is the second in a pair of SBS courses on Business Finances. Please complete “Business Finances 1: Getting Started” before attending this course.

Every entrepreneur is in business to make profits, but only some do. A critical step to success is creating the financial plan that will guide your business to profitability.

The goal of this course is to provide you the information and tools to create your own profitability plan. Whether you are planning to start or grow, this course can help.

During this course, you will:

• Begin developing a startup/growth budget using business expense checklists

• Apply research-based methods to project your prices and number of sales

• Work with a projected income statement and graph to identify breakeven and profitability points

• Use the Return on Investment (ROI) calculation to compare financial projections against industry averages
