About Us

BronxWorks is a cornerstone nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Bronx residents by providing comprehensive social services and support. Since its founding in 1972, BronxWorks has been committed to helping individuals and families achieve greater stability and self-sufficiency through a wide range of programs addressing housing, employment, education, health, and more.

With a mission to empower Bronx residents to overcome challenges and unlock opportunities, BronxWorks serves tens of thousands of people each year, including children, seniors, and those experiencing homelessness. The organization offers vital resources such as housing assistance, workforce development, youth programs, and access to healthy meals, ensuring that every community member has the tools needed to thrive.

BronxWorks is a proud partner of local businesses, government agencies, and community stakeholders, collaborating on initiatives that foster economic growth and improve quality of life in the Bronx, including workforce development initiatives to prepare people that are unemployed, looking for their first job, or need help improving their careers. We have targeted programs for young adults, NYCHA residents, non-custodial fathers, HPD Section 8 voucher holders, older adults, and community residents. We provide comprehensive job-readiness instruction, sector-based trainings, job referrals with trusted employment partners, one-on-one financial counseling, financial workshops, and wraparound services, which include access to benefits and educational opportunities.
