Mr. Felix A. Urrutia Jr.
Felix is a native New Yorker born and raised in Manhattan's Lower East Side during the
tumultuous years of the 1970's and 80's. Son of working-class parents who migrated from
Puerto Rico in the 1950's, Felix understands firsthand the plight of historically marginalized
communities. He witnessed injustice early in his life and throughout his developmental
years. It was this experience that motivated him to dedicate his life to public service.
Felix considers himself an adopted son of the Bronx. It was here that he began his career in such nonprofits as Bronx Council on the Arts, Bronx Venture Corporation, South Bronx Board of Trade, and the Police Athletic League. Serving in these institutions taught Felix a great deal about the responsibility public servants hold for those in their charge and whom we serve.
