2024 Joseph P. Kelleher Memorial Golf Tournament Announced To Raise Vital Funds for Bronx-Based Business Programs & Advocacy

BRONX, NY - The Bronx Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual Joseph P. Kelleher Memorial Golf Tournament on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Bally’s Links at Ferry Point, raising crucial funds to support Bronx-based business education, development, and advocacy programming. The event will feature two (2) tee times, breakfast, lunch, cocktails, and the 2024 Awards Dinner honoring Mark Stagg, founder and CEO of The Stagg Group.

The outing will bring together notable thought partners, colleagues in business, and influential New Yorkers in support of Bronx Chamber of Commerce business and economic development programs.

Kelleher Golf Tournament is about more than just golfing and networking,” said Anthony Mormile, Chairman of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce and Senior Vice President of Orange Bank and Trust Company. “It’s a day to reflect on the vision and leadership of our friend and colleague Joe Kelleher, and his commitment to the Bronx Chamber and Bronx business community, while also raising vital funding for the Bronx’s Chamber’s programs which serve thousands of businesses each year.”

About the Honoree: Mark Stagg founded The Stagg Group in 1996 and to date has built over 3,500 units of affordable housing with a portfolio value exceeding $1.5 billion in real estate development. Stagg stresses high-quality, brick construction, designed to blend into the existing community architecture. Stagg’s mission is to provide practical and quality affordable housing on a timely basis, utilizing energy efficient, state-of-the-art building techniques and practices. Stagg has two decades of affordable housing and market rate building experience.

Stagg believes that giving back to the community should be his highest priority. Whether it is building community centers, funding after-school programs, supporting holiday toy drives or back-to-school supply giveaways, Stagg believes it is his responsibility to continue to improve the neighborhoods and communities he becomes part of.

About the Tournament: Joseph Kelleher, for which the tournament is named, was a friend and mentor to many, and served as the Chairman of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce for 18 years – guiding it to become one of the top economic development organizations in New York. Joe passed away after a valiant fight against cancer in November 2022. To keep Joe’s significant contributions to the Bronx Chamber, the Borough, and State ever-present and top of mind, The Chamber renamed its annual golf tournament in his honor in 2023.
