LEHMAN COLLEGE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS LAUNCHES ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB

Key Initiatives Include Startup Consultancy Service to Support Small Businesses

THE BRONX — The Lehman College School of Business is proud to announce the formation of its new Entrepreneurship Club, a student-led organization dedicated to fostering innovation, creativity, and business development among Lehman students and the community. This interdisciplinary club is open to students from all majors and serves as a hub for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to develop business ideas, build professional networks, and gain hands-on experience in the startup world.

“The launch of the Lehman College School of Business Entrepreneurship Club is a significant step in fostering a culture of innovation and business leadership on our campus, said Dean Hurley, Dean, School of Business. “This club offers students invaluable opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills, connect with industry leaders, and bring their business ideas to life, all while equipping them with the necessary tools and skills to become the next generation of changemakers and business leaders."

The club offers a diverse range of programs and opportunities designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to launch and grow successful ventures. Some key initiatives include:

  • Social Entrepreneurship Education Day (SEEDay) – An interactive event, scheduled for April 22, 2025 designed to help students identify community and social challenges, apply design thinking, and develop creative solutions to real-world problems.
  • The Founders’ Forum – A dynamic series of in-person and virtual workshops where students will engage with entrepreneurial thought leaders, industry experts, and successful business founders.
  • Startup Consultancy Service – Leveraging the expertise of Lehman students across various disciplines, this initiative provides free consulting services to students, faculty, and staff within the Lehman community. Additionally, the program will extend to small businesses throughout the New York City Metro area, offering affordable consulting services to support local entrepreneurs.
  • National Collegiate Entrepreneurship Network Membership – The club will join a national network of collegiate entrepreneurship programs, giving Lehman students access to a broader community of student entrepreneurs, mentors, and business opportunities across the country.
“The Entrepreneurship Club is an exciting new opportunity for Lehman students to take action on their entrepreneurial ideas, and move from concept to reality,” said Yensly Castellanos, the inaugural club president, and a Lehman senior, Class of 2025.

“Whether a student aspires to start a business or not, the club will offer hands-on experiences, networking, and mentorship, to equip students with entrepreneurial skills needed to succeed in business today” added Dr. Andy Gold, Professor and club advisor.

The club is open to all Lehman College students, regardless of major or experience level. Whether students have a fully formed business idea or are simply curious about entrepreneurship, the club offers valuable resources to help them explore and grow.

If you are interested in joining the club, or if you are a community member interested in supporting club efforts, please contact club advisor, Dr. Andy Gold – andrew.gold@lehman.cuny.edu.
